In this unit, students will learn about rites of passage and superstitions around the world. Then, they will select a specific country and conduct their own research to learn about both in that location. (If they are studying specific locations in I&S at the same time, it is a great opportunity to expand their understanding of that place from a different angle.) Emphasis on the language we use to respectfully discuss and explore different cultures and how we can share their stories in ways that honor them. Students will follow the student driven inquiry steps to develop their explorations of their chosen region.
