This unit focuses on how human homes/communities impact the natural habitats around them. After covering overviews of the issues (see Padlet resources), students should develop their lines of inquiry to focus the area they will dig into, such as: adapting how we build and live to be in harmony with the natural world around us, the negative impact of communities expanding over natural areas, animal habitats, undoing damage human activity has caused, sustainable building, off the grid housing, etc. Depending on the phase level and independence of your students, they can vote on the topics they are most interested in you covering, or do small group or individual explorations to then take turns teaching the class.
