Students will explore what makes a community through the lens of how to build strong, positive, healthy communities in their life. All 6th grade units are created to have a heavy SEL skills focus to help students build a healthy relationship with themselves, their peers, their online communities, and their local community. After exploring the many types of communities and what makes them work, students will develop a series of community building event for their grade level (or the MYP). Emphasis on the language we use to build, maintain, participate in, and assume our roles in communities.
